SAMPLE PAGES

As I have scanned my negatives into ‘positive’ aspect I have seen for the first time in forty years or so, a revelation of my past, accurately recovered. Not the usual fuzzy and vague time-eroded memories, but true and accurate ‘flashbacks’ of my own history and that of those around me. WOW! And with this comes the memories of the situations surrounding the images, and the many, many stories.  My 'Pandemic Time' has become a blast into the past, and through this process, an entertaining and mesmerizing journey down my own memory lane.  – HARRY KERN

ABOUT YUKON TALES

Yukon Tales is a Facebook group moderated by long time Yukoner Harry Kern and is dedicated to past stories of life in the Yukon (and surrounding Alaska).

Harry and friends provide rich content as a celebration of Northern living: pre-internet to now.

For posterity some of those stories from the YUKON TALES Facebook site are presented here as a collection of Yukon lore. What follows is a faithful rendition of Yukon Tales as an interactive pdf.

For more stories and posts from Yukoners near and far, be sure to visit YUKON TALES Facebook page.

WHAT THEY ARE SAYING

Funny, intelligent, informative, but above all... Supremely entertaining!
MITT STEHELIN,
WHITEHORSE RESIDENT
During the pandemic lock down we all were left to find things to do. Clean out that drawer? Sure. Catch up on paperwork? If I have to...
Harry Kern started digitizing old photos and weaving tales about them. Harry won the internet and kept us enthralled and wanting more. Big Bertha started it all and I couldn’t be happier to be a part of it. Even if you don’t know the people in the stories, Harry's writing style will keep you wanting more.
The Yukon Tales facebook group - from the mid seventies to today - reminds us of the contributions of a bunch of crazy-ass Yukoners making their our own fun in the sticks. A time when we were seemingly cut off from the rest of the world. Lot of memories, awesome pix, good laughs...
